Interserve cleans up at the shops

28 Jun 16 Interserve, the construction to cleaning contractor, has won a £60m contract for facilities management at 18 UK shopping centres.

The three-year contract with property services company Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) sees Interserve take responsibility for cleaning, security and pest control. More than 300 maintenance workers will transfer to Interserve.

The account also includes the provision of standalone cleaning services for a number of JLL's offices across central London, worth approximately £9.5m a year.

Interserve already looks after 60 shopping centres across the UK. Chief executive Adrian Ringrose said: "We have a proven track record of delivering exceptional standards of service at the shopping centres and offices where we work – and doing so cost-effectively, thanks to our lean approach and our integration expertise.

"We have a strong relationship with JLL having provided a range of facilities management solutions to them for many years. We look forward to helping JLL create the best possible experience for visitors and employees at their nationwide shopping centres and workplaces across the capital."

JLL retail management operations director Duncan Cross said: "Interserve's combination of innovative technology, and 'one-team' ethos, underpinned by their dedicated shopping centre operation, will allow us to implement our change programme to maintain JLL at the forefront of shopping centre management."
