Manchester Airport wheels link bridge into place
Manchester Airport Terminal Two is currently going through a £1.3bn modernisation programme, with a new pier offering extra aircraft gates, stands and seating.
Over the course of three months in early 2024, a 90 ft link bridge structure, to connect the new pier to the existing terminal, was fabricated on the nearby apron.
At the end of May and eight-hour operation saw the 216-tonne structure wheeled and lifted into place using a self-propelled modular transporter (SPMT) unit.
