The university says that its vision is to restore the Grade 鈥楢鈥� listed McEwan Hall to its former glory while taking the opportunity to open the ceremonial hall for the wider use.
The main hall will be restored and the basement area renovated and developed. 聽There will be a new entrance and visitor facilities and Bristo Square in front of the hall will be landscaped.
Interserve is expected to take two years to complete the work.
The contractor has a strong presence in the city, where it is also on site at The Haymarket, a 拢200m office development.
