The five-year contract extension with Severn Trent Water is worth 拢190m and involves the delivery of clean and waste water services to over 4.2 million households and businesses. Amey will be responsible mains renewal and maintenance, as well as delivering sewer upgrades, flood alleviation projects and installing new or refurbishing existing pumping stations.
Amey has been working for Severn Trent Water for 12 years.
For United Utilities, Amey has secured an extension until 2020 for its network maintenance alliance contract. This is worth 拢225m and sees Amey help to maintain more than 76,000km of sewer pipe and 42,000km of clean water infrastructure in northwest England.
Amey recently acquired Enterprise, which originally held the contract since 2009.
United Utilities managing director Steve Fraser said: 鈥淎mey will play a vital role every day for our three million customers keeping the pipes and pumps of our water and wastewater system working. We have a significant amount of work to maintain and improve many parts of our network over the next five years and beyond, whilst keeping water bills affordable.鈥
